Writing down your weight loss process can help you to stick to your plans. Keep a log of every single piece of food that you consume in a journal. Review your journal entries before you go to sleep to make sure you are staying on track with your caloric goals. You should also use the journal to record how much weight you have lost or gained each week. The use of a graph is a great visual motivator in your weight loss journal.
If you become too hungry, your ability to make rational food choices will diminish and you may end up on an eating binge that you will later regret. Avoid being faced with poor choices unexpectedly by planning your meals and snacks for each day and packing them to take along wherever you go. Prepare lunch in advance rather than eating junk food on the go. You will save lots of money and get a better quality of food. The food you prepare for yourself will have far less fat, sodium and calories than anything you could buy at a restaurant or fast food eatery.
Successful weight loss includes not only a healthy diet, but also a good workout routine. You need to find an exercise plan you enjoy, and do it three or more times per week. If exercising is getting tedious, incorporate your favorite activities into your workout routine. Do something physical like hiking or dancing the next time you get together with friends. If you have an interest in dancing, take a dance class. If you like to hike, look for trails you do not know about!
Make junk food hard to get your hands on. Ask yourself whether it makes more sense to try and keep it out of sight or to just not buy it in the first place. By keeping healthy foods around at all times, you will be much more encouraged to eat them.
Ask your friends for help. Your friends are sure to want to help. When you surround yourself with friends that support you, you will be able to succeed more easily. Your support system is there to give you the advice and encouragement you need to proceed toward your goal. When your motivation is low, then reach out for support to help you get back on track.
