Is it possible to lose weight for good and keep it off? It is if you can learn to be consistent.

You know that feeling when you see a friend and have a nice conversation, but as they left, you realized you didn't tell them how you liked their shirt or hair? You were thinking about how you liked what they were wearing through the conversation, and you had intended to tell them, but you forgot. Immediately you feel bad that you forgot to tell them how nice they looked. Of course, you can always text them later. This can be a similar feeling with trying to lose weight for good and keep it off. You intend to do whatever it takes, but then might not completely follow through. Part of the reason you may not follow through is if the steps are easy or not. If it's not easy, it's harder to follow through.

  1. Set Goals. To have a clear direction of what you want to accomplish and how you are going to get it done, write down specific goals. Attach 2-3 steps or tasks to each goal of how you are going to accomplish it. Read goals frequently.
  2. Be Positive. When you are exuding positive vibes it affects everything around you, even your metabolism. Negative thoughts do the same thing. So if you want to lose the extra pounds, have grateful and positive thoughts about your body.
  3. Support. Ask a friend or family member to join you. A great support system can go a long way and help you be consistent.
  4. Water. Make drinking water a daily and hourly habit. Do not go without. Drinking a ton of water is instrumental to a healthy and skinny lifestyle.
  5. Stress. Manage your stress to avoid releasing the stress hormone. The stress hormone has been known to contribute to fat cell growth.
  6. Visualize. Visualize you reaching your goals. This will help keep your brain on board with what you want to accomplish.
  7. Focus. To keep your focus on your goals, read about losing weight and watch videos. When it is on the brain, you will begin to know and do things without much thought because you are focused on it.

Once you have created these things and added them to your daily routine, making good food choices will be easier. These steps will help you to be consistent and create healthy lifetime habits.
